UC4 Green Treated Railway Sleepers (x36) | 2.4m X 200mm X 100mm

UC4 Railway Sleepers are large, sawn cut sleepers that have undergone a vigorous tanalised pressure treatment that protects the wood against rotting and damp.  This UC4 treatment involves the timber being kiln-dried to reduce the moisture content to around 28%, before preservative is then added to the timber whilst under hydraulic pressure to ensure a deeper penetration of the preservative than standard UC3 treatments.  This more in-depth treatment gives the railway sleepers an extra long life of up to 15 years. 

These railway sleepers have a green colouration initially which will fade to a honey brown and finally to a silvery grey over time when exposed to the sun.  However, if you would prefer, these sleepers can be easily stained to suit your aesthetics with our .  It is also advised that this treatment is applied if the railway sleepers are cut – using a circular saw, chainsaw or handsaw – as newly exposed cut surfaces will otherwise be exposed.
